I thank you too for your kind words. Having loose “awkward” hair is a new experience. For partings, you like I will just have to experiment as the hair grows.
I look forward to being able to have fun doing buns and hairdos for occasions, like evenings with friends. As you say, there’s no reason why they should be reserved to women. There are some very simple styles one can do oneself and not so simple ones. It seems to involve beginning with a high ponytail and twisting it around and using pins to hold it in place. Of course, we would be breaking social conventions and have to be ready for the criticism. It takes character like having the long hair, but even more of a provocation. I imagine that most of the time outside my house, I would wear it in a low ponytail to be discreet. One can't push or shock people too much. It all depends on the circumstances. I am lucky to be self-employed and work at home, so I don’t have pressure from an employer to have short hair.
Grey hair? Mine is natural and I prefer to keep it that way. I began to be quite grey when I was about 37, and both my parents went grey in their 40’s. I am now 54 years old. There are men on this board who are older than I am, and have very good long grey hair. It is an encouragement that we are never too old to “make the journey”.
My next update will be due in a couple of weeks. We do need to see a bit of difference each time!
