: : I thought I'd give u guys some good news. For almost 2 weeks now I've been moisturizing my hair a lot with leave in conditioner, coconut oil (I just leave it in for an hour and then wash it out...it's called a pre-poo for the scalp so the shampoo cleans mostly the scalp-don't lather the shampoo through your hair and just gently massage into the scalp), and regular wash out conditioner. The result almost immediately was a lot less noticeable long hairs in my hair brush and in the shower. My hair is really thin/fine but I should be able to get a couple more inches with just moisturizing but I'm also just starting the hair supplements to see if I can make the new hair strands thicker.

Something I picked up from hair dressers back in the 80s (I was a longhair hippie kid) was that to prevent build-up in the hair u shouldn't stick to 1 product but change it up everyday. So, I use 2 different leave in conditioners, 2 regular conditioners, and then plain organic coconut oil from BJs Wholesale Club. I also use Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle conditioner once a week and am about to try a clarifying shampoo to help remove any build-up I may start getting...clarifying shampoo from what I know strips more oil from you hair than regular shampoo so I'm only gonna do that once a month followed by a 3 Minute Miracle conditioning session.
I bought a package of Aussie products that includes the 3 Minute Miracle conditioner, Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner Spray, Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner. The other shampoos and conditioners I have are Tresemme. The other leave in conditioner is a spray that smells like coconut but I don't know the brand.
I use the coconut oil by massaging it into my scalp and moving it through my hair every other day. Leave it in for at least half hour then wash out with shampoo and condition.
I also use an organic hair repair leave in oils that say to massage into your scalp every day-so I do. Doesn't seem to leave my hair limp, so I guess there's no build-up.
So, that's a long answer that is all over the place so I hope u could follow my thoughts....I can't at times!
My hair seems to drink this all up, so I guess it was really dry. Something else I used years ago and was recommended on this board back in 2004 is Jojoba oil.
Oh, something else I do throughout the day to try to move the oils down my locks is dry my cleaned hands and cool water through my hair after going to the men's room.
