Sorry to hear the detangling didn't work for you, but at least it sounds like you're happy with getting a fresh start, too. Based on the picture you shared, it looks like hair with your texture would benefit from frequent brushing throughout the day to remain untangled, generous conditioning, as well as "protective" hairstyles (ponytail, braid, etc.).
