: Thank you, all. I'm letting it flow naturally over the ears, and it falls into place. I don’t get an artificial curl on parts of my hair that in a year’s time will be partly the way down my back. I’ll look at styles later when I get to the right length. I notice that in 18th century styles (with natural hair, not the wig) the ears are covered and the hair is not too tightened to the ponytail. I wouldn’t have the permed curls they had. I am for greater simplicity, but I might be in for some curls going by the hair on the back of my head, now about 3 ½ inches long (tapered to nothing last October).
: For now, I’m just biding my time and letting it grow, and looking after it with the usual washing / conditioning care. I notice the hair is more oily after several days, but I have never been of a greasy complexion. Like my late mother, I have always been dry-skinned and dry-haired. So I just take it easy and get on with life. I dreaded social occasions with conservative people a little, but my wife has a way of laying it on thick. This Englishman is growing it out long! Looks of surprise and polite acquiescence. I’m beginning to find this tremendous fun.
: I find the hair actually looks longer with the continuation between my side bangs and the back. I’m buying it.
: Anthony
I have thinner hair so if I don't wash it at least every other day I look greasy on the third day. My 89 year old dad commented "Do they let you go to work with your hair that long?" I don't get the "get a haircut" comments anymore so they just give the dirty looks from my conservative family. I'm at almost 18 months without a cut and my hair is almost 10" long.
