Oh yes, I remember it well. I was 12 years old, sitting cross legged on the couch. Watching them I immediately started pulling my hair out over my foreead, I a cut at the ime that was quite acceptable. Longer on top but still clipped neatly on the sides and back. No kidding. before that show was over I had had an epiphany. My hair would grow. No more monthly treks to George, the friendly barber. My parents braced at this at first, but actually relented with my promise to keep it neat and clean, which I did, and have always done. I was able to affect the 'Beatles" look almost immediately. A fact that disturbed some elders at school and delighted my friends, male and female. Some guys were right there with me as we grew our hair to ever greater lengths. One other note from that evening. As I watched the Beatles. My thoughts went to the piano. I decided that I had made a mistake, that a guitar is what I wanted... However, Pianoes, being a not inexpensive instrument, assured my parents would be less likely to acquiesce to my idea to change my musical direction. In time, I did get a guitar, and an amp, and for good measure a Hammond B-2 and a Leslie to boot. Good times, good music. good memories, and good hair.
